Sunday’s rains caught one 20-year-old off guard as he rode home that evening and the floodwaters obscured a rather deep pothole in the road ahead.

Oblivious, he was thrown from his bike as it plunged into the pit, resulting in some bruises and necessitating a swift trip to hospital.
