The search for suspects only extended a few metres beyond the crime scene when Kampong Thom authorities arrested a woman for stealing from her brother-in-law living next door.

Police say she waited for her sister’s husband to leave his house before breaking in and grabbing $5,000 in cash.

The owner spotted the theft when he returned home and called in Baray district detectives.

Initial suspicions pointing to the sister-in-law were proved correct when they found a cash-stuffed bag in her house. She’s being held to await charges.
