Panicky pilferer pursued into pole in Phnom Penh

A high-speed chase thwarted a motorbike theft in Phnom Penh’s Meanchey district early Monday morning.

According to police, the suspect and his victim were drinking together when the suspect asked for a ride home.

Leading his companion to a secluded place, the suspect struck the man in the head several times with a stick, and made off with his bike.

A man in a nearby car gave chase, panicking the thief so badly that he lost control and crashed into a utility pole. The thief, however, fled into the night and is still at large. Koh Santepheap
