Peacekeeping guard stabbed in the neck

A restaurant security guard in Phnom Penh’s Daun Penh district got a knife to the throat just for trying to keep the peace on Sunday.

Police said two men were arguing at the restaurant when the guard approached and tried to smooth things over.

The men quit arguing and left the establishment, only for one to return with a knife about 10 minutes later and stab the guard in the neck.

The unlucky guard was sent to hospital and police are on the lookout for the assailant.
