NOVEMBER 19: A British national, James Adam Harryman, 24, was set upon and

gravely wounded by robbers while he was riding a rented motorbike in Ochheuteal village,

Sihanoukville. Three men stabbed Harryman in the waist and axed him in the head,

then stole the bike. He was taken to Calmette Hospital in Phnom Penh, then flown

to Bangkok.

NOVEMBER 22: Han Vay, 24, a bodyguard of the Prime Minister, died instantly

in a night-time accident on 114 Street in Psar Thmei 1 precinct, Phnom Penh. Police

said Vay was struck from behind by a CRV car, driven by Thul Neang, a policeman at

the Ministry of Interior. Neang was arrested, but later freed after paying $3,000

to the victim's family.

NOVEMBER 22: A 34-year-old woman was raped in Robos Mangkol village, Battambang

province. Police said the woman was raped by a neighbor, Phoch Phoan, 19, while cutting

grass for her family's cows. She told police Phoan tried to kill her to silence her

after the rape but she fought him off and ran to her house. Phoan was arrested.

NOVEMBER 23: The body of a 49-year-old woman, Sem Soeun, was found in a lotus

lake in Svay Pak village, Russei Keo district, on the outskirts of Phnom Penh. Police

said the woman probably drowned a week ago while cutting lotus leaves when she was

drunk.

NOVEMBER 23: A motodop driver, Mon Makara, 28, was sent to Preah Kossamak

hospital after being axed in a robbery at 8:15 pm in Chres village, Russei Keo district,

Phnom Penh. Makara told police three passengers hired him to take them from Stung

Meanchey to Samrong Andet. On the way they ordered him to stop, chopped him on the

head, then escaped on his bike.

NOVEMBER 23: Police arrested Suon Dy, 41, after he was accused of raping his

16-year-old daughter in Thnal Bot village, Banteay Meachey province. The girl's mother,

Ream Ren, 36, told police her daughter had been raped three times so far.

NOVEMBER 24: Chan Veasna, 24, was found dead in a drain in Sra Nge village,

Prey Chhor district, Kampong Cham. Police said Veasna, a mechanic from Takmau district

in Kandal province, was reportedly axed in the face and strangled with a rope while

visiting in Kampong Cham with his friend. Police suspect robbery was the motive as

his new motorbike had been stolen.

NOVEMBER 24: Seang Khieng, 18, died at Calmette Hospital after attempting

suicide in Chrey Thom village, Kandal province. Police said Khieng poisoned himself

with insecticide. The reason for the suicide is not known.

NOVEMBER 24: A 7-year-old girl was raped in Kauk Tasok village, Banteay Meanchey

province. Police arrested and charged Thit Thay, 22, who is married with one child.

NOVEMBER 24: Two of three unidentified men were beaten to death after being

captured while robbing Ky Kouch Lean, 48, of his motorbike in Prek Talong village,

Meanchey district, Phnom Penh. It was reported that police arrested the robbers then

freed them into the hands of the mob, who beat them to death.

NOVEMBER 24: A Japanese national, Kanae Masato, 54, and a German national,

Elmar Bernhard, 61, were arrested while having sex with teenagers at a brothel in

Svay Pak village, Phnom Penh. Police said Masato was charged with having sex with

six girls all believed to be under 15. Pornographic videotapes of all six acts were

seized. Bernhard was charged with having sex with a 12-year-old girl and 17-year-old.

NOVEMBER 25: Rous Sophea, 33, a policeman at Boeng Kak 1 commune, was fatally

gunned down in a robbery at around 7 pm in Trapaing Chhouk village, Russei Keo district,

Phnom Penh. A witness told police Sophea was shot in the face after he tried to arrest

three robbers who were robbing a motorbike from a woman, Heng Sophal. The robbers

left the woman's motorbike and took Sophea's motorbike, which was more modern.

NOVEMBER 25: Em Sarin, 44, was killed with a knife at 7:20 pm on Pochentong

Boulevard in Prey Tear village, Phnom Penh. A witness told police Sarin was stabbed

twice in the throat by two people who then escaped empty-handed. Police arrested

two suspects, Srey Vanna, 22, and Phan Rith, 20.

NOVEMBER 25: Sun Hong, 25, was shot dead by police in a night-time robbery

in Tuol Sangke village, Russei Keo district, Phnom Penh. Police said Hong was killed

while he and his accomplice were firing guns to evade arrest after they tried to

steal a motorbike from a motodop driver. Sok Channa, 31, was later arrested after

escaping to hide in a nearby lake.

NOVEMBER 26: Police arrested Yoeun Phalla, 22, after he raped a 15-year-old

girl in Khnar Sandai village, Siem Reap province. Police said Phalla raped his sister-in-law

when her family was not at home. The girl told police Phalla threaten to kill her

if she shouted for help during the rape.

NOVEMBER 27: Lay Makara, 17, was shot dead by a security guard at the research

institute of a rubber plantation in Teuk Chenh village, Kampong Cham province. Police

said Makara was shot in the back with an AK-47 while entering the institute to collect

rubber the previous night. The gunman escaped, but police identified him.

NOVEMBER 27: A fisherman found the body of an unidentified man floating under

a bridge of a tributary in Prey Tauch village, Battambang province. After inspection,

police said the man was apparently strangled elsewhere and his body dumped there

in the early morning.

NOVEMBER 28: A 20-year-old unidentified woman was found dead at 7:30 pm at

Sokha Mahaleap guesthouse in Tuol Sangke commune, Phnom Penh. Chea Mony told police

the woman, who was wearing cowboy trousers and a white T-shirt, came to the guesthouse

with a man and paid 10,000 riels for staying a night. Police suspect the man killed

her then escaped. The reason for the murder is not known.

NOVEMBER 30: Tang Toy, 7, died and three other people were seriously injured

after a hand grenade exploded in Tapa village, Siem Reap province. Police said the

grenade was thrown into the sleeping victims' house in the early morning. Three cows

were also injured. Police suspect revenge was the motive as the landlord had recently

argued with a neighbor over the cows.
