Yama-dealing guests overstay their welcome
A Sen Sok district guesthouse in Phnom Penh became a makeshift yama hoarding house – the owners of the auberge apparently oblivious to the drug peddling taking place. According to police, four men hovering outside the hostel gates were arrested with bulging packages strapped to their bodies, with the alleged dealers admitting they were selling the narcotics. Police admitted they had observed the wheeling and dealing “for a long time” but had insufficient evidence to pounce on the pariahs. The suspects have been sent to court. Kampuchea Thmey

Diamonds are forever, but theft is six months
Reckless driving got the better of two alleged jewellery-snatchers in Phnom Penh’s Daun Penh district on Tuesday when the thieving goons smashed into another motorcycle while attempting to flee a crime scene. Police said the duo grabbed the gems from the suspect as she plodded along on her own moped, causing her to lose her balance and tumble to the ground. Two fraudsters in Phnom Penh’s Russey Keo district were arrested on Wednesday after they masqueraded as poorly patients in a pharmacy and instead pilfered the proprietor’s phone. However the perceptive pharmacy cottoned on to the con, calling for help, and police arrived swiftly to the scene.
