A Sen Sok district guesthouse in Phnom Penh became a makeshift yama hoarding house – the owners of the auberge apparently oblivious to the drug peddling taking place. According to police, four men hovering outside the hostel gates were arrested with bulging packages strapped to their bodies, with the alleged dealers admitting they were selling the narcotics. Reckless driving got the better of two alleged jewellery-snatchers in Phnom Penh’s Daun Penh district on Tuesday when the thieving goons smashed into another motorcycle while attempting to flee a crime scene. Police said the duo grabbed the gems from the suspect as she plodded along on her own moped, causing her to lose her balance and tumble to the ground. A 45-year-old alleged wife-beater was arrested in Kampong Cham town on Tuesday after his wife claimed she had suffered years of abuse at the hands of her hot-headed hubby. Pharmacist doles out sweet salve of justice
Two fraudsters in Phnom Penh’s Russey Keo district were arrested on Wednesday after they masqueraded as poorly patients in a pharmacy and instead pilfered the proprietor’s phone. However the perceptive pharmacy cottoned on to the con, calling for help, and police arrived swiftly to the scene. A cocky crook swaggered into a Chamkarmon district home in the light of day on Wednesday, wielding a knife and threatening the house’s sole female occupant, police said.
