Attacker hacks moto driver, steals bike
A motodop was chopped with an axe and robbed of his motorbike in Oddar Meanchey’s Anlong Veng district on Wednesday. The victim, 25, was sitting on his motorbike waiting for passengers when the axe-wielding assailant chopped him three times. His wife said the motorbike was a newly purchased model. Police said they were searching for the attacker, but no witnesses had seen his face. The victim, who nearly died at the scene, is recovering in hospital. Kampuchea Thmey

Burglar stabs sleeping homeowner, escapes
A 20-year-old was stabbed in his sleep during a robbery at his home by an acquaintance in Kampong Cham province’s Kroch Chhmar district on Wednesday. The victim said he knew the burglar and they had had a phone argument the day before. Police attempted to arrest the suspect, but said their officers were outrun in a foot chase. Driver hits student, flees from the scene
A student died at the scene of a hit-and-run crash in Kandal province’s Takhmao district on Tuesday. The 19-year-old victim was riding her motorbike home when a truck driving in the same direction struck and ran over her. The truck had been speeding, witnesses said, and had fled the scene after hitting the teenager. Police said they were investigating the case and searching for the suspect. Rasmei kampuchea

House burglarised when family was out
A house in Stung Treng province’s Sesan district was burgled while the family was away on Monday. The house owner reported a heavy loss and police said properties such as a TV set and a laptop were stolen. Police said they were investigating the case, but did not have any suspects. Deum Ampil
