Jan. 10: Khan Toul Police arrests Thong Vandy, 24, in Sangkat Touk

Laak III, Khan Toul Kok, Phnom Penh, for commiting fraud to steal motorcycles. A

stolen motorcycle is confiscated. 

Jan. 10: Kien Svay police arrest two offenders who have set up an

unlawful check-point on the river in Russei Srok village, Kandal province.

Jan. 11: Kong Samrech, 30, is threatened and robbed at 6:30 of his

cub90 motorcycle by two offenders carrying a handgun on Pokambo St, Phnom

Penh.

Jan. 12: Three robbers are shot and killed at 12 mid night by the

police when they are trying to rob two Land Cruisers belonging to UNDP CARARRE

in Phnom Penh. The killed criminals and a few others of the gang ride on a CAMRY

car to conduct the robbery. The guards are tied up, two Land Cruisers driven

away, but the robbers's CAMRY driven the three thieves counter attack by

police.

They do not surrender and fire at and injure a policeman before they got

killed. The three offenders are identified as Nhiw Salorn, 22, wearing the

combat uniform of the National Police, and Hok Narith, 27, dressed in the

uniform of the government body guard. The two are policemen of the Department of

Body guards of the Ministry of Interior and National Security. The other

unidentified body is suspected as the key smith: His hands are stained with

machine oil.

Jan. 12: Police arrest Vietnamese national Treung Yang Sin, 26, and

Cambodian national Meas Chanthy, 27, at 4:30 a.m. near the Monivong bridge,

Phnom Penh. The two are accused of motorcycle theft.

Jan. 12: A motor-taxi driver is shot and wounded, and his c50

motorcycle robbed at 7:30 p.m. by two offenders carring a K59 on Keo Muny Bvd,

Phnom Penh.

Jan. 12: Three offenders with ahand gun, riding on a Crystal

motorcycle, rob Heang Chhiw and his wife at 10:10 p.m. of a c100 motorcycle on

St 122, Phnom Penh.

Jan. 14: Keng, 22, is shot and killed at 9:30 p.m. by a drunk criminal

carrying a handgun on St 598, Phnom Penh. The criminal escapes safely.

Jan. 14: Police arrest two offenders at 8:10 p.m. while they are

trying to rob a JR motorcycle belonging to Lok Buntoeun, 20, a student of the

Faculty of Sociology, in Sangkat Beongkak I, Khan Toul Kok, Phnom Penh.

Jan. 14: Kol Chantha, 49, accused of fraud, is arrested by Khan 7

Makara police on St 107, Phnom Penh.

Jan. 15: Pong Borann, is robbed of his c50 motorcycle at 10:45 p.m. by

three offenders with K59, riding on a JR motorcycle, on St 170, Phnom Penh.

Jan. 16: A gang of burglars break into a house at 2 a.m. on St 174 in

Sangkat Beong Raing, Khan Daun Penh and steal two motorcycles and a video

monitor.

Jan. 16: Two offenders with a handgun, riding a Crystal, rob Khun

Chet, 29, at 5:50 a.m. of his Cub motorcycle and a wrist watch near the

Cambodiana Hotel, Phnom Penh.

Jan. 16: Meas Dana, 24, working at the Foreigners Control Department,

is robbed at 11:30 a.m. of his c100 motorcycle by three offenders carrying two

handguns on St 318, Phnom Penh.

Jan. 17: Sao Sokunthy, 25, accused of motorcycle robbery, is arrested

in Toul Kok village, Phnom Penh.

Jan. 18: A seller is shot and killed and seven others wounded when an

unidentified assailant fired a K59 and exploded a handgrenade at 10:40 a.m.to

rob some gold at the Orussei market, Phnom Penh.

Jan. 18: Two thieves carrying a K59 shoot and injure Unn Vanthy, 35,

to rob his motorcycle 5:15 a.m. at the corner of Sts 182 and 141, Phnom

Penh.

Jan. 19: Thavy, an eighteen year old barmaid, is shot and killed at 11

p.m. by her customer at her rented home on Monivong Bvd, Phnom Penh. Police are

investigating the murder.

Jan. 19: An unidentified man in early twenties is shot and killed at 7

p.m. by two unknown offenders riding on a motorcycle on Monivong Bvd near the

Bok Ko cinema, Phnom Penh. Police say both the attackers and the victim are

suspected to be of a bad gang, and the murder is to conceal something.

Jan. 20: Phan Sokun, 25, is arrested at 3 a.m. by the Mean Chey

Criminal Investigation Police in Prek Talong village, Phnom Penh. He is accused

of 18 thefts.

Jan 21: Two men in late twenties are found murdered in Srenho village,

Phnom Penh. The two are shot and killed by unidentified assailants using a

K59.

Jan. 21: Nguon Sreng, 36, is shot and killed at 4:40 a.m., and his

motorcycle robbed by an unknown gang of criminals in Toul Bakha village, Phnom

Penh Thmei commune, Russei Keo district, Phnom Penh.
