Purse snatcher gets a taste of mob justice

A young bag snatcher failed at both offence and defence when he was unable to get a handle on his victim’s bag, and was apprehended and given the customary treatment by a mob in Chamkarmon district.

Police say a woman was riding alone on Wednesday when the 18-year-old snuck up behind her and reached for her purse.

He came away with nothing, or so he thought, when he was cornered by a group of bystanders after the victim shouted for help.

He received a few punches for his trouble before officers arrived on the scene and hauled him to the station.
