Villagers in Phnom Penh’s Daun Penh district apparently turned their street justice against the wrong person on Sunday.
A villager there came home to find a 13-year-old drug addict inside his house, police said.
Assuming he was attempting to steal, he and other villagers knocked the teen down and bound his hands and feet until police arrived.
However, the suspect was going through drug withdrawal, and was simply confused about his whereabouts, police said.
The teen is being questioned by police.
