Robbers caught in the thick of it in wild chase

A pistol-packing pair of pilferers led police on a chase through a forest on Wednesday in Preah Sihanouk’s Kampong Sela district before a bullet stopped one of them short.

Police said the two men had stolen a motorbike from a young Acleda bank staffer at gunpoint then made off into the woods with the cops on their trail.

Hoping to frighten them, one man fired toward the police, initiating a brief gun battle that ended with a bullet in his leg and his partner leaving him behind.
