Sticks and stones may – ow! Quick, into the river!

A pleasant idyll along the river in Kandal’s Takhmao town ended with a pair of lovers jumping into the water to avoid a hail of projectiles.

Police said the two were canoodling riverside when a group of five men began hurling stones at them. Both victims sustained minor head injuries before taking the plunge just ahead of the arrival of police.
