Truck dumps ferry big cassava load into river

A river in Kampong Cham has swallowed up the contents of a truck laden with 40 tonnes of cassava.

Bystanders said the truck was overfilled and travelling too fast as it mounted the Kampong Kor ferry on Wednesday, causing the ferry to rock.

The driver then attempted to reverse off the ferry but landed in the river. Thankfully, he managed to jump from the truck in time.

The driver has blamed the owner of the ferry, who has flatly denied any wrongdoing.
