Unscheduled swim for National Road 5 trucker

A container truck was the latest victim of Cambodia’s somewhat laissez faire attitude to the rules of the road on Sunday morning.

The trucker was hauling a load of cement near Poipet on National Road 5, when he was met with the sight of an oncoming car.

In his efforts to avoid a head-on collision, the trucker was forced to swerve violently, causing his truck to plunge into a canal. Luckily, no one was injured.
