Victim was ‘slashed on bike’ by gang of three

A 20-year-old man was seriously injured after he was viciously hacked by three men with cleavers and machetes in Phnom Penh’s Chamkarmon district on Saturday night.

The man was riding his motorbike alone when he was stopped by the trio, who slashed his left hand and threatened to hack him to death if he shouted for help.

Before escaping, one of the men shot his pistol into the air. Police, who arrived on the scene too late to help, suggested revenge as a motive. The victim is now recovering in hospital. Koh Santepheap
