Wine pairs well with fish, brutal axe fights

Three men were arrested on Saturday after a friendly round of drinks led to an unfriendly axe attack in Banteay Meanchey’s Poipet district.

Police said the five men were swigging wine together when a drunken argument broke out.

One suspect, with the help of two others, decided words weren’t good enough and took an axe to the two victims.

They tried to flee, but local residents apprehended them while police arrived on the scene.

The attackers were sent to court while the victims were hospitalised with serious back injuries.
