A violent husband was arrested in Siem Reap on Monday after brutally attacking his wife with boiling soup, simply because she had the temerity to spend time with a neighbour instead of coming home to cook his dinner.

The woman received burns to her head, neck and shoulders and was hospitalised.

Police arrested her attacker who said he lashed out because he was unable to control his anger.
