March 27 marked the opening of the 40th annual Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS).

Held at IMPACT exhibition and convention center, the show ran for 12 days, closing on April 7.

The BIMS was held in a huge showroom floor space, measuring 170,960 square meters.

The event played host to 33 car brands, and 14 motorbike brands, as well as over 50 different accessory companies.

All top automotive manufacturers were in attendance. Brands from Japan, Korea, the USA, and Europe were all represented at the BMIS, with 2019 marking the inaugural participation of super car brand McLaren.

The BMIS is billed as “the top motor show in Asean”. Before the event, organisers predicted that over 1.6million visitors would pass through the gates over the twelve day show. Source: BIMS
