The Cambodia Soft Tennis Federation (CSTF) has changed its leadership structure and added new members to its executive committee to implement its action plan for success at the national and international levels, especially at the 32nd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games hosted by Cambodia in 2023.

The appointment of new leadership was made at the CSTF general assembly held at the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) on December 13.

Sar Sith, undersecretary of state at the Ministry of Interior and chairman of the General Secretariat of the Sports Council, presided over the assembly.

They agreed on the financial statements of the federation, amendments to its statutes and internal rules for the next term, as well as other official documents.

The assembly also said it fully trusts the composition of the new executive committee to continue leading the federation to success towards winning medals for the nation, both at the national and international events, during its third mandate (2022-2026).

"Based on the results of this general assembly, we hope that the new executive committee will continue to lead the CSTF effectively to achieve more successes on the journey to winning medals at the 32nd SEA Games 2023," Sith stated.

Sith was supported by the general assembly to be the new CSTF president, along with 28 other members of the executive committee, including Tong Sophal as the first vice president, Mao Sophal, Va Kry, Bou Sophal as vice presidents and General Yit Phirak as the secretary-general of the federation.

Tha Socheat, Meas Teu, Khon Satsanita and Sreu Sreng are deputy secretary-generals while An Sopheak is the treasurer general and Vong Vuthea, Samnang Vireakboth, Ny Chansetha and Dam Da are all vice-treasurer general.

The federation also appointed Prak Phalla as its honorary president and Kim Gun Jung, Ogiwara Masato and Cheng Kwok Leung Kelvin were all appointed as honorary members.

"I am very happy that the entire general assembly has given me the confidence and opportunity to contribute to the development of national sports and as the president of the CSTF, I am committed to respect and strictly abide by the laws, rules, regulations and principles of the federation," Sith stated.

He said he will strive to carry out the work of enhancing the prestige of Cambodian soft tennis at both the national and international levels as well as to collaborate and coordinate with other sports in various ministries, institutions and relevant agencies at both the national and sub-national levels to promote the development of soft tennis.

"I will try to mobilise and seek support as resources and materials from legal sources to develop the capacity of players and infrastructure, especially to maintain internal unity and cohesion and improve capacity, quality, morality, dignity and good cooperation at the hierarchy for the federation to achieve progress and honour both nationally and internationally, especially at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia," the newly appointed president said.
