Not far from Krong Takmao, Setbo restaurant sets a new relaxing destination for tourists looking for a place to chill and eat freshly made Khmer food while enjoying the serene environment right by the Bassac River.
Patt Chamnan, the owner of the Setbo restaurant, told the Post: "We create this place aim to let people, especially those living around Krong Takmao, relax during holiday and non-holiday time. We also aim to create a job for the people and students around the area who are unemployed”.
Surrounded by big trees, Setbo restaurant enables goers to enjoy the fresh air by the Bassac River and picture activities around the basin from fishery to agriculture.
With only four months of the pilot, the restaurant has 10 VIP huts, ten regular huts, and four bamboo huts able to serve around 100 guests.
Attracting around 300 visitors daily, the Setbo restaurant opens from 9 am to 9 pm. It has a huge and safe parking area.
Chamnansaid: “Even though it just opens, we received a lot of customers more than our expectation. When many guests come, sometimes there is a shortfall in services, but we try to adjust for the better”.
Special menu includes grilled whole chicken ($10), spicy stir-fried chicken ($3.5), NgamNgov chicken soup ($3.5), sour chicken soup ($3.5), grilled snail with pepper source($3.5), steam snail with fish paste source ($3.5), stir-fried snail($3.5), grilled frog with pepper source ($3.5), grilled fish paste serves with fresh salad ($4), grilled whole fish serves with rice noodles ($6), and other delicious food.
The owner of the restaurant said “I assured that prices of food here are reasonable because I like to eat in other places as well, so I knew our price is competitive. Our place tries to use organic vegetables grown in our garden by the river like morning glory and other ingredients. We reduce the buying from the market because some contain chemicals substances. We love our health and want to protect the environment”.
In the future, Setbo restaurant will create a fishing area and other entertainment areas to make the restaurant more attractive and a better option for customers.
Setbo restaurant is located in front of the Setbo health centre in Kampong Pring village, Setbo commune, Sa’ang district, Kandal province with only 15 minutes drive from PrekSamroung Bridge along National Road No. 21A.
