CP Cambodia held a blood donation event under the “1,000,000 CC of Blood for Cambodia” concept, which aims to encourage society to address the importance of giving blood and saving lives.

The event was held at the CP Cambodia – a subsidiary of the Thai multinational Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) – animal feed factory in Kandal province’s Ang Snoul district on September 29, 2023.

More than 300 CP members of staff took part alongside other participants including those from the National Blood Transfusion Centre, CP ALL Cambodia, Kasetphun Cambodia and CPPC.

In his speech, CP Cambodia President Wittaya Kreangkriwit hailed the blood donation campaign as a “great occasion”.

“Today marks a significant day for CP Cambodia as we engage in donating blood, a humanitarian endeavour to help patients in need and save lives.”

“This is also a great occasion for CP Cambodia to honour the benevolence of the late Khunying Tawee Chearavanont [the wife of the founder of CPF who passed away in 2023].

“Khunying Tawee Chearavanont was key person dedicated to benefiting society and helping people, while CP has provided employment opportunities and livelihoods for many people,” said Wittaya Kreangkriwit.

Dr Heng Chamroeun, Vice-President of the National Blood Transfusion Centre, expressed her gratitude to CP Cambodia for the generous donations.

“On behalf of the National Blood Transfusion Centre, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to CP Cambodia. We are grateful to them for generously volunteering to donate blood.

“I would also like to acknowledge the dedication of our members of staff who organised today’s blood donation campaign.

“The success of the ‘1,000,000 CC of Blood for Cambodia’ campaign contributes towards cultivating positive attitudes in Cambodian society to donating blood and a proper understanding of healthcare needs,” said Dr Heng Chamroeun.

The campaign is testament to CP Cambodia’s commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), with the company having to date organised three successful blood donation drives, with the participation of approximately 800 people.

Kittiphop Thirachotikun, Assistant Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility, reiterated CP Cambodia’s commitment to sustainable business operations under the “CPF 2030 Sustainability in Action” strategy.

He emphasised the company’s commitment to improving society and restoring a balance with nature, while highlighting its sustainability principles, which adhere to the “three benefits” – to the nation, the people and the company itself.

CP Cambodia’s CSR strategy revolves around three key policies – the provision of food security, a self-sufficient society and balance with nature.

In 2023, CP Cambodia collaborated with the government and relevant agencies to create social value and foster the growth of sustainable business operations for many projects related to sustainable strategy.

For food security, the company has extended support for the school canteen project at the New Hope for Cambodian Children orphanage in Kampong Speu province, providing lunch for the children and educating them on the importance of consuming high-quality food and the benefits this brings.

For a self-sufficient society, CP Cambodia participates in other humanitarian programmes, providing supplies and medical equipment to several hospitals across the Kingdom.

For balance of nature, CP has set a target of planting one million trees in Cambodia by 2030 in order to reduce pollution, and improve soil and water quality. It also uses renewable energy.

CPF is a leading agro-industrial and food conglomerate business operating in Thailand and many other countries. The CP vision is to become the “Kitchen of the World”.

CP businesses are classified into three categories, namely Feed, Farm and Food, including retail and outlets.

Looking ahead, the company remains committed to prioritising the wellbeing of society and the environment as integral aspects of its business operations.
