MILLICOM International Cellular, former owner of Cambodia’s largest mobile provider Mobitel, reported a second-quarter profit of US$929 million, a 14 percent growth year on year. Strong revenues from the Luxembourg-based provider’s South American units contributed to profit growth, it said in a press release. Last year, the firm planned to sell its 78 percent stake in Laotian mobile provider Tigo to Vimpelcom, the owner of Cambodia’s Beeline.
