Hanuman Beverages Co, Ltd officially held its grand opening in a ceremony presided over by HE Lieutenant General Hun Manet, Deputy Commander of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, with Lok Chumteav Khieu Sarsileap, Founder and Chairwoman of Hanuman Beverages, offering the warmest of welcomes to those present.

HE General Moeung Ponlork, deputy director-general of the General Department of Logistics and Finance at the Ministry of National Defence, was also in attendance, as were company senior management and other distinguished guests.

The event was held on October 22 at the Hanuman Beverages factory, located on National Road 4, in Chhak Chhoeu Neang commune’s Trapaing Veng village in Kandal province’s Ang Snuol district.

“Hanuman Beverages was created with the utmost care in mind for the Cambodian people to enjoy real high quality products, and to join the government in supporting the Cambodian economy by creating jobs and promoting local products.

“Hanuman’s current products – which include Hanuman Premium Lager and Hanuman Black – strengthen our country’s reputation for high quality products on the international market, which is the main strategic direction we have been moving towards,” Sarsileap said.

She highlighted Hanuman Beverages’ commitment to best corporate responsibility practices, including socially and environmentally.

“Hanuman Beverages actively practises high social responsibility, in which we have cooperated with the General Department of Taxation to strengthen transparency in tax payments to the state and ensure fair competition in the beverage sector in Cambodia.

“At the same time, in order to contribute to sustainable development, we have invested in a range environmental protection systems, with theconstruction of a liquid waste treatment plant,as well as the installation of solar panels and recycling processes.

“And this is alongside the various social promotion programmes which are part of our development projects for common growth.

“On October 19 this year, Hanuman Beverages received a certificate of environmental friendliness from the Ministry of Environment for our management of natural resources, biodiversity conservation and efforts towards sustainability,” Sarsileap said.

HE Manet, who is also commander of the Royal Cambodian Army, praised Hanuman Beverages for its contributions to strengthening local production and job creation.

“This occasion is also a proud one in that we are witnessing the official opening of a local company such as Hanuman Beverages, one that has used 100 per cent local investment to open this huge, modern factory – which uses the highest production standards to ensure the best quality.

“Through this, Hanuman Beverages has contributed significantly to the government in promoting and strengthening local production, creating up to 500 jobs in the factory alone, as well as contributing to increased tax revenue for the state and the promotion ofthe Cambodian agriculture, agro-industry and other related sectors,” he said.

Hanuman Beverages officially started construction on its state-of-the art brewery – which is equipped with the latest technology from Europe in accordance with world-class standards – on September 2, 2019 with an investment of $160 million. It began packaging on August 31 last year, and started distribution on September 20.
