New mobile phone company coming

The government and the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication will grant a license

to a new private mobile phone operator to begin service in the next few months, a

ministry official told the Post. The new company, which has not been identified,

will run 097 and 098 and will begin operating in late 2007.

Currently there are three mobile operators in Cambodia. Mobitel runs 012 and 092;

Camshin runs 011 and 099; and Telekom Malaysia International (Cambodia) runs 015

and 016.
