Users of the Wing Bank App can now pay for goods and services by scanning any QR code with a KHQR label.

With the launch of the National Bank of Cambodia’s KHQR system, users of the Wing Bank App can now pay for purchases instantly through any QR code with a KHQR label.

“All customers need is the Wing Bank App installed on their smartphone and they can make payments at any merchant using the KHQR code. With KHQR, customers do not need to worry about carrying cash.

“QR payments have proven to be popular in Cambodia because of the ease of use and the level of security it provides,” said Han Peng Kwang, Wing Bank's CEO.

Bakong, developed by the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), aims to take the payment system in Cambodia to the next stage by providing a wide range of financial services in an easy, simple, and secure setting. Bakong is part of the NBC’s plans to accelerate the digital economy in Cambodia.

Wing Bank fully supports the National Strategy on Financial Environment 2019-2025, as well as the Cambodia Digital Economy and Society Policy Framework 2021-2035. These documents are pivotal to ensuring Cambodia’s successful progression towards a digital economy.
