More than 32,000 tourists visited the coastal province of Preah Sihanouk on October 6 alone, which marked the second day of the October 5-7 Pchum Ben public holiday.

According to the provincial administration, nearly 900 of the total were expatriates.

The provincial hall said it had instructed relevant authorities to enforce health and administrative measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19, especially at tourist attractions where holiday revellers tend to gather in large crowds and at points of departure such as taxi terminals where people share means of transport.

The provincial hall called on the public to adhere to preventive measures to protect themselves from the disease.
