The UK and Cambodia on May 26 held their inaugural Joint Trade and Investment Forum (JTIF), which aims to further shape and strengthen the trade and investment relationship between the two kingdoms.
The forum took place at the Ministry of Commerce in Phnom Penh.
According to the British embassy, ambassador Dominic Williams and commerce minister Pan Sorasak signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to underpin the new forum.
"The JTIF brought together leaders of the UK and Cambodian governments, policymakers and industry leaders.
"They discussed policies and trade schemes, including the Developing Countries Trading Schemes, Cambodia’s new investment laws, and the UK’s prioritisation of green and resilient growth," said the embassy in a social media post.
The forum also enabled BritCham and the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce to discuss in depth key opportunities, challenges and barriers in doing business in both kingdoms, it added.
