The first edition of Cambodia Tech Catalyst 2024 – co-organised by OCIC and supported by Google Cloud – is launching on March 12-14 in Connexion, on Phnom Penh's Koh Pich.
Cambodia Tech Catalyst, together with Impact Hub, Khmer Enterprise, and Google Cloud Asia Pacific, will include a startup networking cocktail in Koh Pich City Hall and the CTO Connect series of sessions, in Connexion – Koh Pich’s new "Community Hub".
The initiative aims to introduce Cambodia to new digital trends and highlight the Kingdom’s tech ecosystem by bringing together more than 150 decision makers that have registered, as well as offering some 500 students the opportunity to have dialogues with the Google team from Singapore.
"We are committed to support innovation, tech, digital and creative space for Cambodia. Even more, we are focused on supporting entrepreneurship and positive impact for founders and the ecosystem" said Thierry Tea, Vice President of OCIC.
"Cambodia has plenty of talents who can blossom with guidance, direction, support and mentorship. We are humbly honoured that Google Cloud Asia Pacific is visiting Phnom Penh and support our initiative"
An innovative "bioclimatic" building, Connexion is soft launching this month and welcomes its first tech-related events on March 13-14, with the CTO Connect sessions to enable tech leaders in startups to discuss and expand their businesses.
The three-day event, sponsored by ISI Group, Canadia Bank, Heineken, Anant Law and Bill24, aims to strengthen the community around key aspects of digital and entrepreneurship network building.
The key highlight is a unique special session at CamTech for 200 university students, and another at the Canadian International School of Phnom Penh for more than 100 high school students that have registered.
In addition to the Google Cloud startup team led by Esna Ong and Kathleen Chiu, the initiative is contributed by some prominent faces of the tech and investment ecosystem in Cambodia, including Bora Kem of Mekong Strategic Capital, Mao Savin of Emerging Markets Investments Asia or Lida Loem of She Investments.
Startup founders and entrepreneurs who have successfully scaled their tech companies – such as Pablo Alonso, Sam Kosal, Jay Kong or Prak Chan Thul – are also ready to provide important advices.
Registration for Cambodia Tech Catalyst 2024 is still open.
