The newly opened Uy Kuyteav Cambodian Restaurant Tonle Bassac has brought a delicious new menu and a chic minimalist decor to wow diners on Phnom Penh’s Koh Pich, having already received the thumbs-up from members of the Cambodian Chefs Society. The dining experience at Uy Kuyteav Tonle Bassac received approval from the members of the culinary association who visited the new restaurant on Tuesday for a sumptuous breakfast with Cambodian Master Chef Luu Meng, the CEO of Almond Hospitality, which manages the Uy Kuyteav brand. Uy Kuyteav Tonle Bassac’s comfortable dining ambience is complemented by its contemporary take on the decor of a traditional Cambodian wooden home, with louvred windows and hanging rattan lampshades. Other design highlights include the brand’s signature half-moon seats as well as a map of Cambodia featuring where from each province Uy Kuyteav sources its local produce. A charming 34-seat restaurant with outdoor dining area, the new eaterie – located on Street Tonle Bassac Park, a minute’s drive from Koh Pich’s Rainbow Bridge – joins the Uy Kuyteav outlet on Kampuchea Krom Boulevard.
