Showcasing the unspoiled gems of Cambodia's coastline, the "Hidden Cambodia" webinar on February 16, 2024, captivated an online and in-person audience of some 150 people, all eager to explore the unique offerings of Kep and Kampot.
Held at Phnom Penh's SUN & MOON Riverside Hotel and streamed live via Zoom, the event – showcasing the cultural richness, natural beauty and exciting development potential of the Kingdom's coastal destinations – brought together 80 onsite participants and an additional 70 online.
Supported by the Cambodia Tourism Federation (CTF) and its industry partners, as well as the Ministry of Tourism, Destination Cambodge2024, and other travel organisations, the webinar provided insightful presentations from respected guest speakers and delved into the region's rich cultural tapestry.
The presentation by David Moons, Digital Marketing Manager at Knai Bang Chatt by Kep West, explored the captivating landscapes and hidden treasures of the region, and highlighted the experiences the "magical" coast has to offer.
With the "Hidden Cambodia" webinar highlighting the natural beauty and sustainable development prospects of Kep and Kampot, the invited speakers shared their insights on the industry and provided unique perspectives, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of the coastal region's potential.
Jef Moons, Founder and CEO of Knai Bang Chatt by Kep West, officially commenced the webinar with some words on what it means to build a travel destination, as well as on the cultural heritage and historical significance of Kep and Kampot.
Jacques Guichandut, Founder and Managing Director of All Dreams Cambodia, and Director of the #DestinationCambodge2024 campaign, discussed the potential for sustainable development and responsible tourism practices.
Luu Meng, Co-Chair of Tourism Group "B" Private Sector, meanwhile, provided valuable insights into the current tourism landscape and future opportunities.
Guy Porre and Nathalie Chaboche, Owners of La Plantation, Kampot, offered a glimpse into the vibrant culinary scene and agricultural potential of the region, while Paul Ferber, Founder of Marine Conservation Cambodia, spotlighted the importance of environmental protection and responsible tourism practices.
The webinar concluded with an engaging Q&A session in which participants, both online and present at SUN & MOON Riverside Hotel, were able to ask questions directly to the guest speakers.
