In a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on Wednesday, Singapore (Cambodia) International Academy (SCIA) partnered with Siemens Industry Software Pte Ltd and Steaming Cambodia to promote quality STEM education. The agreement allows SCIA to become an academic partner and use Siemens Industry’s software to enhance the digital, technology and engineering talents of students at SCIA for Industry 4.0, while Steaming Cambodia provides software and other related services. Singapore’s Ambassador to Cambodia Teo Lay Cheng, who was present at the event held at the SCIA campus, said: “The world is entering an era of profound uncertainty, more so than before the Covid-19 pandemic set in. To meet the challenges ahead, a future-ready education system is critically important. The MoU – which brings together the academic rigour of SCIA and the
cutting-edge technology of Siemens – is a step in the right direction.” SCIA managing director Tan Wee Pin said: “We believe that SCIA, Siemens and Steaming Cambodia share the same vision of providing a learner-centred curriculum, and we endeavour to provide engaging and high-quality STEM education to students.” PHOTOS SUPPLIED
