Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra and the Musica Felice choir have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to co-host the 12th Bi-Annual Charity Concert.

The event, held under the theme of Europe Day, will take place on May 12, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm at the Sofitel's grand ballroom.

Building on the success of previous concerts, this year's event promises a captivating musical journey through the diverse sounds of Europe.

The audience can expect a blend of classical, folk, and modern pop music, all performed by Musica Felice's talented volunteer choir. Tickets can be purchased online and all proceeds will be donated to local charities.

The collaboration between Sofitel and Musica Felice has become a cherished tradition in Phnom Penh's cultural calendar.

“We are extremely proud to partner with Musica Felice and co-host their charity concert again," says Charles-Henri Chevet, Area General Manager of Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra.

"It's exciting to be part of an event that has not only entertained music lovers but also raised significant funds for worthy causes across Cambodia."

Musica Felice, founded by Miwako Fujiwara, is a renowned international choir known for its dedication to both artistic excellence and social responsibility.

“Performing beautiful music is a passion for our members, but giving back to the community is at the heart of why we do it," says Fujiwara.

"We're thrilled to showcase the rich musical heritage of Europe while raising awareness for important local charities."

Past Musica Felice concerts have consistently drawn large crowds, with over 800 attendees at the most recent event. This year promises to be no different, with Fujiwara hinting at a special treat for the audience.

"We have talented Khmer musicians in our choir who will be infusing a bit of Cambodian flair into some of these well-known European songs," she reveals.

"There will be something for everyone, with a focus on celebrating Europe Day through a vibrant musical experience. We also have some special guests and surprises planned, so it promises to be a truly memorable evening."

Musica Felice's commitment to social responsibility is evident in their long history of fundraising for local charities. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit two esteemed organizations: Krousar Thmey and Mercy Village Church. These charities provide vital support to vulnerable children in Cambodia, offering educational opportunities, vocational training, basic needs assistance, and exposure to the arts.

Over the years, Musica Felice's concerts have raised over $105,000 for local charities and non-profit organisations. The volunteer choir itself boasts a remarkable diversity, with 37 members representing 20 different nationalities.

Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra invites the community to join them for an evening of cultural exchanges, musical delights and charitable giving. Celebrate Europe Day with Musica Felice as they weave a tapestry of sound that transcends borders and unites music lovers for a good cause.
