China pledges continued support for Cambodia's Covid fight

China has vowed to continue providing assistance to Cambodia in the fight against Covid-19 until the pandemic is over.

The pledge was made by Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin during a regular press briefing on November 4, according to the Chinese embassy in Phnom Penh.

Wang said Cambodia and China are ironclad friends who have worked hand in hand to build and fortify an unbreakable line of defence against Covid-19. The two countries, he added, have also been acting as role models for the international community in the prolonged global Covid-19 battle.

“We will continue to support each other in containing Covid-19. As long as the pandemic lingers on, China's assistance for Cambodia will not end,” Wang was quoted as saying.

He also commended Cambodia for taking effective measures to contain Covid-19 and applauded the remarkable results the Kingdom has achieved.
