Counter-counterfeit officials on August 20 destroyed over 21 tonnes of counterfeit sanitiser at a dumpsite in Phnom Penh's Dangkor district after seizing them in different raids.

Phan Oun, head of the Ministry of Commerce’s Consumer Protection, Competition and Fraud Repression directorate-general (CCF), said on August 20 that his officers, local authorities and court officials had destroyed a total of 21,052 liters of sanitiser confiscated from different location and shops in the capital.

He said that early this week, CCF also burned down more than nine tonnes of food and snack products that have been sold without a permit. It also seized more than six tons of contaminated products for destruction.
