Another 500,000 doses of China's Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine touched down in Phnom Penh on May 16 and will be distributed in the capital and Kandal province, a senior health official said.

“The ad-hoc Covid-19 vaccination commission and the procurement committee led by Prime Minister Hun Sen are doing whatever possible to inoculate all residents aged 19 and over in Phnom Pen, Kandal and other provinces.

“So, this year we must vaccinate all people in these locations,” said Ministry of Health secretary of state York Sambath during the vaccine handover ceremony at Phnom Penh International Airport.

Sambath reiterated that Cambodia would procure sufficient vaccine supplies to immunise between 10-13 million people.
