The government has cautioned people living in border areas with Vietnam against possible

transmission of bird flu, media said on January 24. Chan Sarun, Minister of Agriculture

and Fisheries, told people in Takeo province to be careful with the poultry they

buy to celebrate traditional festivals.

"We need to be careful with the poultry imported from our neighboring countries,

where bird flu has occurred," the Raksmey Kampuchea daily quoted him as saying.
