Infections from A(H1N1) influenza – commonly known as swine flu – have risen to 161 confirmed cases nationwide as of Sunday, Health Ministry officials said. Ly Sovann, deputy director of the ministry’s Communicable Disease Control Department, said the ministry continues to closely monitor the spread of the virus in the run-up to the Water Festival from November 1 to 3, during which more than a million people flood into the city. Three people died from A(H1N1) in late September and early October, leading authorities to increase their vigilance.
