A public

hearing has been scheduled for February 27 for detained former Khmer

Rouge head of state Khieu Samphan to appeal his continued detention. 

Co-prosecutors requested the appeal be done on the basis of written

submissions only, but the pretrial chamber deemed it necessary to hold

a hearing, as it related to "the liberty of the Charged Person".
