In Brief: Thai monk faces child sex charges

A 62-year-old Thai monk serving at Wat Tep Nimeth in Koh Kong province appeared in provincial court on Sunday to answer allegations that he sexually abused 11 boys ages 12 to 17. The monk was arrested on Friday after authorities were tipped off by French NGO Action Pour Les Enfants (APLE). The victims had been living under the monk’s care for two years, during which time, they say, the monk regularly abused them.
