The Phnom Penh Municipal Administration called on Phnom Penh residents aged 18 and over who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 to get the jabs from June 27 onwards as the vaccination campaign in the capital will end in the first week of July.

In an announcement dated June 25, it noted that the vaccination drive in Phnom Penh has been carried out in concerted effort among volunteers from the Ministry of National Defense, Samdech Techo Voluntary Youth Doctor Association (TYDA) and Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, among others.

As of June 23, a total of 1,662,356 people had received their first doses while 1,498,787 had their second shots.

But the municipality said there are still 19,399 people from all the 14 districts who have not come to get the vaccine.

“To achieve herd immunity in Phnom Penh, please get inoculated from June 27 to July 8 at a designated vaccination site in your respective district,” it said.

When the campaign wraps up, it warned, there will be no more vaccinations organised in the capital.
