TWELVE cows and buffalo have died of foot and mouth disease in Svay Rieng province’s Kampong Ro district since mid-December, health officials said. District veterinarian Ath Sophal said yesterday that infected cattle had so far been reported in two villages. Pov Thida, deputy director of the provincial department of agriculture, said officials were taking action to stem the spread of the disease by administering vaccinations.
