Cambodia’s government institutions and two of its international partner organisations jointly ran a training session on business integration to strengthen the ability of officials to investigate counterfeit and low-quality products often circulating in the Kingdom.

The session took place with the participation of CCF director-general Phan Oun and Frank Jettke, team leader of the ASEAN Project of the German development agency GIZ in Cambodia, co-leading it on September 1.

Also participating in the training were representatives from the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC), CCF officials from the capital and the heads of branches of the CCF from the capital and provinces.

Oun said that the training aimed to give his officials an outlet for sharing learning experiences and for seeking to understand the draft sub-decree on the terms and procedures of business integration under the competition law.

“We run this training session and the training played the role of providing a forum to offer CCF investigative officials chances to be able to seek to understand a crucial component of the procedures of business integration, framework for analysing business integration, corrective measures to prevent business integration that could hinder, restrict or undermine competition through experience sharing as well as good practices on business integration checks from the KFTC experts,” he added.
