The Club of Cambodian Journalists issued a statement on Monday appealing to authorities to investigate after a journalist that was allegedly beaten by security guards at the Mao Hak Warehouse in Sen Sok district’s Teuk Thla commune, Phnom Penh. The CCJ statement claimed that 45-year-old journalist Soy You Mern from the Rasmey Kampuchea newspaper was attacked by at least four security guards while attempting to take a photo on the street on Saturday, which they described as a “threat against press freedom”.
