Construction worker faces child sex charge

A CONSTRUCTION worker was charged yesterday at Phnom Penh Municipal Court with having sex with a minor. Soeung Kin was arrested by anti-human trafficking and juvenile protection police on Friday at his home in capital’s Russei Keo district, police said.

The arrest was made after the mother of the eight-year-old girl filed a complaint with local authorities claiming the suspect raped her daughter.

Information officer for Action Pour Les Enfants Khoem Vando said the organisation is providing legal representation as well as emotional counselling to the alleged victim and her family.
