The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology issued a January 27 weather warning, noting that a high pressure system from China and the northeast monsoons will continue to bring moderate-to-heavy rain from January 27-30.

The notice said temperatures will continue to cool. On January 29-30, the highlands and northwestern provinces will experience colder temperatures than usual, with minimum temperatures of 14-16 degrees Celsius forecast.

Other provinces will experience lows of 17-21 °C. In Phnom Penh, the temperature may drop to 20 °C. From February 5, temperatures are predicted to return to normal.

The ministry appealed to the public to excise increased caution during the cold weather.
