The ruling Cambodian People’s Party is set to celebrate its 60th birthday today at its central office in Phnom penh. Around 10,000 members are expected to attend the celebration, which will be presided over by Prime Minister Hun Sen, CPP president Chea Sim and its honourary president Heng Samrin. Senior CPP lawmaker Cheam Yeap added that members of the CPP in provinces nationwide would also celebrate the anniversary of the party’s formation. It was formed under a different name.
