Some 150 CPP members attended the 30th plenum of the Central Committee of the CPP

in Phnom Penh December 18-19. The party said it was determined to maintain internal

unity to ensure victory in the upcoming commune elections. The CPP said it valued

the political stability between itself and Funcinpec, and hoped the election would

be free from violence and political intimidation.
