The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts has issued an advisory to content creators and informal performers to put an immediate stop to producing, promoting or distributing videos and content in all forms that undermine the culture, traditions and values of Cambodian women and children.

In its June 22 instruction, the ministry said it has recently observed that some video makers, content creators and informal performers on social media have produced short videos and entertainment content that contained unethical images and content.

The instruction said that in order to avert the negative impact of such content and maintain the values, dignity, culture and traditions of the country, they need to put an immediate stop to the production of material that is pornographic, erotic, violent or immoral.

“If any individual or group continues to produce this kind of negative content, we will cooperate with the relevant authorities to take legal action,” it added.

The ministry said it hopes that all video makers, entertainment content creators and informal performers on social media will follow the instructions in a responsible way.
