NEW YORK (AP) - The Cambodian Embassy in Washington will be reopened as part
of a full restoration of U.S. relations with the Southeast Asian Country, Secretary
of State Warren Christopher announced on Oct. 1..
The people of Cambodia "deserve tremendous credit," Christopher told Cambodian
Prime Minister Prince Norodom Ranariddh. He presented him during a meeting here with
a bronze plaque that had been on the embassy door before relations were severed.
