The Ministry of Public Works and Transport will soon submit a draft law on "Inland Waterway Transport and Ports" to the Council of Ministers for review and approval.

Minister Sun Chanthol on March 13 chaired a meeting to finalise the draft law, which aims to provide reliable, safe and secure navigation services and enhance ability to compete with regional and international ports.

"I would like to commend and appreciate all the leaders and members of the working group who have made great effort to study and research the topic when drafting this law," he said.

He also instructed the technical working group to update documents according to the meeting results to improve it further, especially in line with the current social innovations and the international context.
